i am SUPER EXCITED to announce that pillows from my "memphis" collection for black crow studios can now be purchased through the shop black crow website!  time to put a little maison21 in your home, dontchathink?

when i went back to design school as an adult, i initially went back to school to study product design but the first two years of the undergrad program was very similar to interior design, and there was much crossover. i eventually discovered that the study of product design could get a waaaaay too engineer-y, and was also rather limiting, so if i wanted to make pretty things and environments, interiors, not products, might be the best way to go.  obvs, i choose interior design, but the love of product design has always stayed with me so it's a major thing for me to have licensed product lines with 27ground for woven accents and black crow studios.

during one of my classes we were asked to name three career goals:  first, i wrote, was showing product at the international contemporary furniture fair in NYC (check), second, was having my products featured in one of interior design magazine's market issues, and third was to have something i designed selected to be in the permanent collection of MOMA.

well, with the publication of the fall market tabloid last month, number two is off my bucket list as well- thank you interior design magazine for helping to make my dreams come true.

so this means MOMA, i'm coming for you next!  wanna buy a rug?

black crow studios at westedge design fair.

last night was the opening of the westedge design fair at barker hanger, and i hope you are planning on stopping by if you live in the los angeles area- lots of great design will be on view!  i am particularly excited because for the first time all five colorways of my "memphis" wallpaper for black crow studios will be on view. the ecru colorway looks completely different than the black and white everyone is used to seeing- who says neutrals have to be boring?

 tracy will also be introducing her new line of pillows with her signature gorgeous prints (yay! memphis again!), and well, her new flower mural wallcovering has to be seen to be believed!

friend to the atelier, jaime derringer of designmilk, also has a curated exhibit, #superPACdesign, of some pretty hip designers, including this wolfrum teepee, so there is something for everyone!

hi kids! yup, i'm working that bathroom again! i was super sad to miss out of fall market at high point for many reasons- i missed all my WONDERFUL friends who i look forward to seeing twice a year. i also missed all the great new introductions- i love being amongst the first to know about what's new 'n pretty! and most importantly, i missed out on a good friend making her high point debut: tracy's hiner did a kick ass installation of her black crow studios wallpaper at the cr laine showroom (i always need to use the phrase "kick ass" in a sentence when talking of my girl tracy,  cuz she is one of my favorite peeps). holly mckay blalock, the mastermind behind cr laine ( and another favorite peep) designed an entire room around tracy's dreamy watercolor wallpaper, and boy was it pretty:
 also throughout the showroom were canvases for purchase using tracy's same amazing watercolor prints- a great idea for those who love the black crow studios look, but don't want to make the commitment of an entire room! and luckily for y'all, they are now offered on the black crow studios website as well! and you know what else is now available on the black crows studio website? my "memphis" collection wallpaper, in 5 delicious colorways! finally, y'all can purchase by the roll!  yay!
