Pet peeve of mine too. It ruins the look of a house. The worst is when they make the window opening smaller to fit a cheap little window. I see this done in the bad neighborhoods. Way to lower your property value...douche. Those vinyl windows are sold as being more energy efficient. But from what I've read...they actually are not that more energy efficient and they start falling apart in 20 years. Give me my beautiful old wavy glass wood windows any day over these modern atrocities.

seriously hideous - not to mention the rest of the building. They couldn't have sprung for mahogany or even steel windows?
