gold

1st olympic gold, then oscar gold, now... ikea gold? spotted these golden lovelies in sea of silver/chrome at ikea (and we hope this is a growing trend for mass marketers):

yum- baby got bling! (yeah, we know- they're probably made of spit and discarded gold candy wrappers, but did you see the prices? who cares!)

olympic gold, oscar gold, ikea gold, and finally, (i bet some of you knew this was coming)... spandau ballet gold:

Do Ikea produce anything a little less glitzy in the picture light department? I'm in dire need of picture lights, but they are hard to find here, and we don't have an Ikea either.

I'm really tired of silver, nickel plated and chrome--give me 24 Kt. Thanks, Mary

I LOVE that the gold is coming back....I just renovated a client's bathroom and pushed for it. It's FANTASTIC.

Thanks for sharing...I'm off to Ikea!

My love for everything gold will never ever die. I'm stoked that its nascent popularity is bringing on some cheap chic hardware, but worry that new demand will drive up the prices of my favorite craigslist finds...

At $129 spit and candy wrappers is exactly what that thing's made from.

I've been seeing a lot of brass bathroom fixtures lately and I kind of like the look. As long as it's a little aged and doesn't look like something you'd see at The Trump Tower!

Ikea seems to be a popular stop for many. There is one nearby. I think I am going to make a visit this weekend.
