in the not too distant past, maison21 was commissioned to collaborate on the design of several pieces of custom upholstery for a residential project. two variations on a lounge chair were presented to the client, who ended up liking both enough that both variations were produced for two different rooms. what do you think? here's your opportunity to tell maison21 if you think he's full of hot air, or full of hot style.

Dammit! Someone needs to comment on your talent. Great chairs! I wish I had room for one in my own maison and that's the highest compliment I could pay. But, are they comfortable?
thanks for the kind words, michael- you are too sweet. to answer your question, i only perched in the chairs for a bit before they were installed the client's home, and i thought they were quite comfortable. haven't heard any complaints from the client either.
but these chairs were designed for a living room where they would primarily be used while entertaining, and in that kind of situation, i lean more towards style than lounging comfort. if they had been intended for a media room or master suite, i probably would have designed a chair with a cushion back and perhaps modified the wood detail along the top.
I think they look amazing.
