mona is barking at the front door, and richard is hiding in the closet. we just had a 5.6 quake here in los angeles, centered about 30 miles east of the maison21 atelier. big enough to scare us, but hopefully not big enough to cause injuries or damage.scary stuff!
ps: ginny, are you ok? i think you are out that way...

Hope everyone out there is alright. I bet it is scary stuff. In NC we face hurricanes during this season. At least with those we have a warning and can leave. There's been no news of it yet on TV. Stay safe...thinking of all of you.
Just talked to Ginny (my mom) and she's A-Okay...in Pasadena with the Grandkids. You're so dear to think of her!
thanks for letting me know about your mom, elizabeth- glad she is having a nice time in pasadena with the grand kids.
thanks for the well wishes, dianne- we got off easy with this one! it would be nice if someday science can provide us with an early warning system...
Hang on tight. Hope all is well.
Glad to hear you're A-OK. I've never experienced an earthquake before... and hope I never do!
I heard it was a 5.8. Treats are in order for Mona and Richard, and for you, too, M21! When you live on the west coast, (we do too) you just never know.
thanks for the wishes everybody! all is good here- 5.6 is no big deal, especially 30 miles away. the 6.7 northridge quake in '94 makes everything else seem tame in comparison... now THAT was scary.
Maison, I'm a complete lurker, but couldn't help on this. I hope everything is well. Sending well wishes.
So glad to know you're okay... did the animals act odd before it started? i hear that happens sometimes.
Hope everything calms down and that you guys are ok!
hi maison, i'm down here is LA, too. i'm so glad to hear you're okay. i'm sure the moscow mafioso chandelier was rattling away! xoxo
thanks gain for the well wishes, all (glad you popped out from lurking too, emma. nothing wrong with lurking, though- all of us big-mouth bloggers started off as lurkers!)
tula- did you think it was the big one? i did for a second, but it never got stronger, thank goodness.
Late, I know, but fashionably. :)
Hope all is well out there for you, maison. On the bright side, living in CA means you're surrounded by vineyards, awesome weather and great views. Not corn and cows.
That is SCARY! I only experienced a couple of 'lil earthquakes when I lived in Tokyo...don't know how you folks live with that thought all the time...
PS Hope Richard and Mona have recovered from the shock!
